Accomplishments

We have been able to accomplish the following

Conducted Home based learning monitoring for children with disabilities October 2025 Conducted Home based learning monitoring for children with disabilities in Rwamwanja refugee settlement where 20 children were followed to access gaps and offered technical support to improve learning, built capacity of 25 caregivers in making low-cost learning materials to facilitate learning of children with disabilities in Rwamwanja refugee settlement
Leadership and governance training for board Directors and staff September 2025, with funding from Comic Relief UK, our board of directors and staff underwent capacity strengthening in leadership, governance and financial management held at Amicus hotel in Kireka from 25-27 September 2025.The training equipped the board with skills in critical decision making and long-term projections for the organisation.
Conducted Trainer Training For Care Givers February – June 2025, conducted trainer of trainer’ training for champion care givers in Kampala, Imvepi, Bidibidi and Rwamwanja refugee settlements. A total of 39 caregivers were trained (29 F, 10M) It is seen as a strategy for continuous capacity building in disability management for care givers led by care givers.
Trained Village Heath Teams In 2025 so far, we have been able to train 12 Village health teams (VHTs) in promoting inclusion of children with disabilities held at red sox hotel in Bukasa from 11th – 12th February 2025. A total of 12 participants attended (10 F, 02 M).
Trained Village Health Teams In Kira Trained 12 Village health teams and 13 Caregivers from Kira Municipality Wakiso district in detection and prevention of disability so that we improve early referrals for rehabilitation of children with disabilities
Organized a training in disability management for 08 VHTs Organized a training in disability management for 08 VHTs and 09 caregivers. In total 17 participants who comprised of 15 female and 02 male were trained This training was held on 9th November 2023 at held at Delta hotel in Bwyogerere. It aimed at equipping participants with knowledge and skills in detection of impairments, basic disability management and developing referral pathways.
we received a grant from Comic relief through CoHERE charity In 2024 we received a grant from Comic relief through CoHERE charity to jointly implement a 3-year project entitled “Access to inclusion and learning for children with disabilities” with 4 refugee led organizations in Imvepi, Bidibidi, Rwamwanja refugee settlements and Mukono /Kampala locations. We were the lead organization in disability aspects for the project specifically for capacity building, assessment and delivery of interventions to all children with disabilities. Built capacity of 126 caregivers (F: 110, M: 16) in rehabilitation and management children with disabilities and offered therapy and home-based learning for 128 children with disabilities (79 girls, 50 boys)

We received a grant from Lego Foundation through CoHERE charity. In 2022/23 we received a grant from Lego Foundation through CoHERE charity. We jointly implemented a project entitled “Scalable Community-Led Learning through Play for Refugee Children” with 4 refugee led organizations in Imvepi, Bidibidi, Rwamwanja and Kampala locations. We were the lead organization in charge of disability capacity building, assessment and delivery of interventions for children with disabilities -Assessed and planned play and learn interventions for 205 children with disabilities (117 Female, 88 Male) -Built capacity of 200 caregivers in use of play to facilitate learning and social inclusion of children with disabilities from Imvepi, Bidibidi, Rwamwanja refugee settlements and regions in central Uganda (Wakiso and Mukono districts) -Strengthened capacity of 14 Community outreach workers from Refugee settlements in promoting inclusion of children with disabilities through play
